Nobody will deny the fact that Atiku was popular as Obasanjo’s Vice President in 2007, when the former settled for a recluse and barely known Umaru Musa Yar’Adua as his successor. President Obasanjo has declared that, there’s no 99.9 percentage in Loyalty, from a subordinate to a boss. The Loyalty must be total; it must be 💯 percent!
President Tinubu as President and Commander-in-Chief too will know the import of Loyalty. It’s good to have a popular candidate, but, a loyal candidate is better for the party. Though, most of the parties in Nigeria today are devoid of any ideology but, the track records of candidate in terns of consistency, perseverance and Loyalty should not be wished away.
In 2016, when Asiwaju Bola Tinubu supported Olusegun Abraham, many people opposed him and described Tinubu as an emperor who wishes to put Ondo state under Lagos. Barr Lebi and few others stood boldly with their leader’s choice of Abraham. He later paid dearly for his loyalty from a very vengeful Akeredolu, who chooses to cut off the nose of his party to spite its face. He decided to dash out the tickets of his party to those in opposition just to have his pound of flesh from those he termed as his political adversaries.
For standing up for party’s supremacy on several occasions, for demonstration of loyalty even in the face of deprivation, and for sticking with the party during rain or sunshine, Barrister Morayo Lebi should be rewarded by the party in the coming primary election.
