Don’t Judge Me, Comedy Show Dear To My Heart — Comedian Kojah Kaze

All roads lead to Terra Kulture, Victoria Island, Lagos on Sunday, November 5 as talented comedian, Emmanuel Kaze aka Kojah Kaze stages his comedy show themed: ‘Don’t Judge Me’.

According to the rib cracker, Don’t Judge Me is a special debut edition of his stand up comedy show and it’s bound to be funny and exciting.

Don’t Judge Me is my debut stand up comedy show. The theme is self-explanatory. We live in a very peculiar and interesting time in the entertainment and comedy space where people expect comedians to be politically correct. That’s why I am coming out to say a lot of stuff,” he stated.

On how he derives inspiration for his jokes, the comic said he could be sleeping and the joke would just come from nowhere. “I am inspired by Kanye West and great comedians before me. I don’t script my jokes. I can be sleeping in the middle of the night and the jokes will just come from nowhere.”

The comedian, who is also an actor, producer, writer and TV host, said the show is going to open up lots of vulnerabilities.

“People judge themselves in the society based on what they see or what they hear about you, but I am changing the narrative by saying ‘Don’t Judge Me’,” he remarked.

Kojah Kaze’s journey as a stand up comedian has not been an easy one.

To him, it has been a roller coaster. So, he’s using the show to tell the world his many experiences.

“I have been denied opportunities, I have been denied platforms. But I never stopped, I kept on pushing, I kept on pressing. I have been doing comedy club for almost a decade. So, it’s about time I put all these experiences into a body of work and that’s why we are having Don’t Judge Me.”

Speaking on what people should expect at the show on Sunday, Kojah Kaze stated: “Don’t Judge Me is a project dear to my heart and my heart is a place of truth and sincerity. My truth doesn’t have to be polite. It’s my reality and art is an expression of the artiste’s reality. So, this comedy show is going to be edgy, thought provoking, and above all it’s going to be funny.”

Kaze hopes to reach the global audience through the comedy show. “This project is for me telling the world that this is me, this is who I am and what I have gone through. Don’t Judge Me will be recorded and sold to the streaming platforms in order to reach global audience,” he concluded.
