2024 US Presidential Election: How Prophet Wale Olagunju Spares Nigerian Christian Seers’ Blushes

Christian clerics who predicted a defeat for the American President-elect, Donald Trump at the just concluded election must still be smarting from their gaffe. The Republican Party candidate won the hotly contested election contrary to the widespread predictions by many Christian clerics who foretold his defeat to Kamala Harris of Democratic Party. The party of shame which follows the prophetic misadventures of these clerics conspicuously excluded Prophet Wale Olagunju, presiding Bishop of Seed of God Chapel Ministry Sasa, Ibadan, Oyo State.

The popular Ibadan based cleric was audacious in his prediction as he unequivocally foretold the return of Donald Trump to power four years after he was ousted by the incumbent President, Joe Biden. His prediction which was published in City People Magazine edition of January 10, 2024, stridently picked the Republican Party and his flag bearer ahead of Democratic Party’s candidate.

His words: “The God of ancient prophets revealed to me that President Donald Trump of the United State of America will survive the present impeachment saga. The Almighty God says he will intervene at the tail end. Donald Trump will not be impeached. In a further revelation, the Living God says that President Donald Trump is a candidate to beat in the USA 2024 Presidential election. With little prayer Donald Trump would win the election.”

In fulfilment of this prophecy, Trump swept to a decisive victory penultimate Wednesday morning after winning several crucial battleground states. And in three months’ time, the 45th president of the United States will become the 47th at an inauguration at the US Capitol. The coming to pass of Olagunju’s prophecy on Trump’s return to power underscores the Ibadan-based man of God’s unwavering prophetic gift in an uncommon way as underscored by the predictions of many Christian clerics in Nigeria and other parts of the world. While most of the prophecies came with a tone of probability on the outcome of the poll, Olagunju was emphatic in giving outright victory to Trump.

In a letter to the then candidate of Republican Party, dated 9th of May, 2024, a period of six months before the American Presidential election, Prophet Wale Olagunju congratulated Donald Trump in advance on his imminent victory at the November poll. The letter, which was meant to convey the proposal of the Directorates of the Concerned Patriots of Nigeria and Overseas for Restructuring of Nigeria DCNPNOR to Trump was emphatic in tone and letters on the victory of the Republican Party’s candidate at the election.

“We are keen on you becoming the next President of the United States of America (USA). God has revealed some messages for you in 2020 and 2024 which we stated in this letter. We are also praying for your success in this November Presidential election to be the next president of the United States of America (USA). We also need your support in assisting in restructuring Nigeria into a sovereign country, with sovereign states, united and without any form of division under a new name called United States of Nigeria (USN).” The letter which was signed by seven executive members of the DCNPOR with Prophet Moses Wale Olagunju as the president, read in part.

In another letter to the American President elect dated 1st of November, 2024, barely five days to the just concluded American Presidential Election, Prophet Olagunju, under the umbrella of another organisation, The Lovers of Hope for Greater Nation, restated his conviction and assurance in his earlier prophecy of Donald Trump’s reemergence as American 47th President. He equally restated his request from the Republican Party candidate to assist Nigeria in achieving dream of restructuring without division under the name of the United States of Nigeria (USN).

Not a few analysts have described the fulfilment of the Ibadan based man of God’s prophecy on Donald Trump’s election as a saving grace for many Nigerian pastors on the outcome of the 2024 United States of American election who had predicted that Kamala Harris of the Democratic Party would beat Trump at the Presidential poll. “I feel greatly relieved to know that at least one prominent Nigerian pastor got it right with his prediction that Donald Trump would win this year’s election. It is indeed a relief for us because the fulfilment of Prophet Wale Olagunju’s prophecy has spared Nigeria and the Nigerian pastors who goofed on the just concluded US presidential election result of their blushes following their prophetic missteps. It is therefore safe to say Nigeria still has true prophets of God.” An analyst, Mike Whesu said.

Many who have followed Prophet Wale Olagunju’s prophecies for decades would attest to the fact that this is not the first time the Ibadan based man of God would distinguish himself as one of the true men of God Nigeria can boast of in this generation. Majority of Nigerians would recall how Olagunju predicted that former President George Bush would win the United States of America’s Presidential Election in 2004 when the vast majority of Christian clerics tipped his main challenger and then candidate of Democratic Party, John Kerry for the pole job of ruling the US between 2004 and 2008.

The Thursday, November 4, 2004 edition of Nigeria’s Daily Sun with the caption: “AMERICAN PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION: POOR KERRY” with the rider “BUSH RUNS AWAY WITH VICTORY” and “IT’S KERRY WE SAW, NOT BUSH, PROPHETS INSIST”, confirmed the prophetic prowess of the Ibadan-based man of God as he turned out to be the only Christian seer who foretold George Bush’s victory in that edition of the publication.

The newspaper’s report of Olagunju’s prediction on page 4 of the edition read in part: “Another Ibadan-based man of God, Prophet Wale Olagunju who had predicted victory for Bush since January 2003 said the result cannot be otherwise because it was actually revealed to him by God on December 29, 2002. Olagunju, who is the General Overseer of the Seed of God Chapel Ministry Sasa, Ibadan said with the election of Bush all crises in the world would stop for good.” The result of the election turned out in favour of Bush and in favour of Prophet Wale Olagunju who stuck with his earlier prediction while others vacillated on their predictions at the most crucial period of that year’s election.
